About switch your thinking!
Switch your thinking! (syt!) was launched in June 2002 to enable the Cities of Armadale and Gosnells and Serpentine Jarrahdale Shire - working together as the South East Regional Energy Group (SEREG) - and their communities to implement measures that will save energy, water and operating costs, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. It has been strategically designed to engage the community in participating in achieving our regional emissions reduction target of 15% by the year 2011 (based on 1998/99 levels).
The award winning syt! program operates in collaboration rather than competition with other agencies. It takes advantage of the niche available to local government to work effectively at delivering actions at a grass-roots level, in a mutually complementary way with the broader approach of State and Federal agencies.
A key feature of syt! to date has been the formation of successful partnerships with government agencies, corporate sponsors, and all sectors of the community. Since the program's inception seven years ago, SEREG and its project partners have invested more than a million dollars in regional actions promoting energy and resource efficiency, helping reduce greenhouse emissions by more than 300,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent.
Recognised for its innovation and successful track record in developing and implementing exciting community-based projects to help achieve greenhouse gas abatement, syt! has now been expanded to another 5 WA local governments, and most recently, the ACT government.
Syt! was developed specifically to deliver sustainability initiatives to the community under a catchy, recognisable and consistent brand whose flexibility covers a potentially broad range of attitudinal and behavioural change initiatives.

Effectively, syt! has no 'competitors' - just potential project partners!
