Reducing Waste Together: Early Years educator workshop

FreeEarly Years educators, come along and update your tool box with waste reduction resources and ideas through this fun and interactive workshop
Join Little Green Steps WA in partnership with the Waste Authority WA, to learn about what waste is, tips on how to best manage waste in your services and information on how the City of Kalamunda manages waste and how they can assist your services. With demonstrations and participation of hands-on activities related to waste that are suitable in your Early Years settings. This workshop will show how waste is linked to the Early Years Learning Framework and the National Quality Standards.
If you are from early years in schools, long daycares, pre-kindys, OSCH, Playgroup educators or Family daycares in the surrounding regions, then this workshops for YOU!
Workshop summary:
• Learn about waste and what your centres can do about it;
• Meet the City of Kalamunda Waste & Sustainability Officer to learn where waste goes and how you can minimise your impacts;
• Explore links to the NEW Sustainability Priority in the EYLF, THE NQS & the WA Curriculum;
• Hear what others are doing to reduce waste in their early childhood services;
• Take away activities you can run with children to help them learn about waste issues.
Participants will also receive the updated Little Green Steps WA early childhood waste reduction kit.
Registrations close on 12pm on the 7th of February.
