Greens & Co takeaway coffees are a steal for just $2, but only for customers who bring a reusable cup. The café wanted to send a clear signal to customers that they support BYO cups and co-owners Deb Saunders and Stuart Lofthouse have put their money where their mouth is! Since implementing the whopping discount last year they have seen a steady decrease in the number of takeaway cups heading out the door and into landfill.
Saving each drop
Dedicated to not wasting a drop, the crew at Greens & Co reuse their water. Water captured in the kitchen sink is thrown on the thriving garden at the back of the café. The owners have also chosen a waterwise washing machine to take care of their dirty linens and aprons. Choosing water efficient appliances is important in WA’s drying climate.

Natural climate control
Like many businesses Greens & Co hope to have solar panels one day, but at the moment it’s not feasible for them. Instead they reduce their energy bill with simple hacks you can replicate in your home and office.
High ceilings, floor to ceiling windows and fans help visitors keep cool in Greens & co. The café is air-conditioned but finds that in Perth throwing open the doors and windows is enough to keep the temperature pleasant most of the time.

Greens & Co is known for its upcycled décor, a demonstration of their commitment to a small environmental footprint. The café is willing to repurpose anything that still has a bit of life in it.
