What can I recycle?

Media storage and pens, pencils and markers

  • Media storage including vinyl records, 8-track tapes, cassette tapes, CDs, DVDs, Blu Ray discs, floppy disks, memory sticks and external hard drives.
  • Pens, pencils and markers including pen caps, mechanical pencils, marker caps, permanent markers, and permanent marker caps.

What happens to the waste?

When the box is full, it is sent back to TerraCycle and mechanically and/or manually separated into metals, fibres and plastics. Metals are melted for so they may be recycled. The plastics undergo extrusion and pelletisation to be moulded into new recycled plastic products.

What's not accepted?

Please do not include record players, 8-track players, cassette players, TVs. VCR players, CD players, DVD players or computers, paint or paint brushes. We will also not accept household hazardous waste such as lithium ion batteries, pressurized canisters, pesticides or medical sharps. Visit Recycling Near You to find out how to safely dispose of these items.
