Social handprint

The Sustainability Committee works hard to improve the ecological footprint as well as the social handprint of Gilmore College, including collecting:

  • Ring pulls that will be melted down to make prosthetic limbs
  • Stamps to raise money for kidney health
  • Bottle lids to make a bead curtain from plastic bag string and
  • Used spectacles for the Specsavers and Lions Recycle for Sight program

All activities are shared with families through the school newsletter and with staff through the Sustainability Committee Connect page and “Sustainability Corner” in the Principal’s weekly email. Dedicated staff commit their time to sustainability at Gilmore College during and after school hours as well as on weekends and during school holidays.
