Water and energy

Mundarda is very conscious of their resource consumption and children and staff try to reduce the amount of water and energy used at the centre. Children wash their hands in a tub, rather than under a running tap and then the water is reused on the gardens in the centre.

Staff and children appreciate that the air-conditioning uses a lot of electricity and use it consciously only when required. The centre hangs washing out in the sun in preference to using an energy-hungry clothes dryer and relies on daylight instead of artificial lighting wherever possible.
