Ashburton Drive Primary School has been a proud Waterwise School since 2005. The Waterwise Schools Program is an initiative of Water Corporation that provides schools with an opportunity to become role models in the community by taking a long-term, whole-of-school, cross-curricular approach to water education. To find out more or to become a Waterwise School visit the Water Corporation website.

As a Waterwise School, Ashburton Drive Primary School has implemented the following water saving actions:

  • Completed a whole-of-school water audit

  • Celebrates World Water Day on March 22 each year
  • Water conservation is taught to every year level in Term 3 Science
  • Classroom teachers implement Waterwise lessons available from Water Corporation
  • Hold regular water-related incursions from Water Corporation and SERCUL
  • Maintain a Waterwise native school garden
