Earth Carers Course

This course will provide participants with a wide range of knowledge and skills related to reducing waste in the home and the community.

The Earth Carers course consists of five sessions over three weeks and includes:

  • A behind the scenes tour of the Red Hill Waste Management Facility
  • Hands-on practical workshop covering composting and worm farming
  • DIY product make and take demonstration
  • Practical tips and tricks on how to avoid and reuse materials and advice on where to dispose of tricky items
  • How to encourage family, friends and co-workers to support your changes and reduce their own waste
  • Opportunity to meet industry staff and like-minded individuals
  • Join a growing network of passionate "Earth Carers"
  • Light meal and refreshments provided at each session

Due to the high demand for places in this course, you should only register if you believe you can commit to attending all five sessions. Participants who complete the entire course will join our Earth Carers network which brings together like-minded people, gives you opportunities for further learning and sharing your knowledge at community events.

The EMRC Earth Carers course is free to residents living within the City of Swan, City of Bayswater, City of Kalamunda, Town of Bassendean, and the Shire of Mundaring.

There is a fee of $100 for individuals who reside outside the listed Council areas. Payment is to be made upon registration. Photo identification and proof of address will be verified during the first session.
