Introduction to local plant ID

In this introduction to plant identification, Karen, from Life in the Bush, will briefly explain how plant taxonomy works, discuss the characteristics of some common WA plant families and demonstrate what to look for when identifying local native species. She will also briefly introduce you to common weeds species that you may encounter in local bushland. If the weather is favourable, the group will head outside to view common species found in the area and practice identifying some plants under Karen's guidance. The aim is to provide attendees with some basic knowledge, which would enable them to broadly identify common plant families and some common species when on a bushwalk in local bushland.

Attendees will take home a copy of a booklet which lists many common native plants found locally.

Suitable for adults and young people aged 12 and over.

Please book in as spaces are limited. For all inquiries contact Beechboro Public Library on (08) 9207 8585.
