Join this unusual but relaxing session, a mix of meditation, art and science – the observation of a tree.
After an introduction from Mike and Mandy Bamford in the library (including pointers about what to look for), participants will head outside and choose a tree to observe, sketch and record notes about. Focussing on this one tree – the different parts of it or one aspect only, the life occurring in and around it and the way it interacts with its surroundings – is almost meditative. Hear from others about their trees and share your observations. A recycled paper notebook will be provided and you will get to take this with you at the end.
Please bring a cushion to sit on if desired, a hat and a drink bottle. Drawing tools will be provided. Suitable for adults and young people aged 12 and over.
Hosted by the City of Swan.
