Nature know-how: Birds of the Perth Hills

Talitha Huston will talk about her book ‘Backyard Birds of the Perth Hills’, photography tips and where/how to find your local birds.

When she was aged between 14 and16 years old, Talitha secretly put together a book which she had professionally printed and presented it to her parents as a Christmas present. It includes hand painted maps, beautiful photos (taken by Talitha), an identification guide, skittish rating and photography tips.

Talitha will talk about the process of putting the book together, share photography tips, discuss bird call identification and the identification of easily confused birds, and show a video on local birds she has produced.

Please note that this program is suitable for adults and young people aged 12 and over, and is an informative presentation including a video. Photographs and videos may be taken of the event. Talitha's books will be available for purchase on the day.

In accordance with hygiene requirements, social distancing will be maintained throughout this program and hand sanitizing stations and cleaning products will be available for use.

Please book in as spaces are limited. For all inquiries contact Midland Public Library on (08) 9267 9020.
