Nature Know-how: Botanical Drawing

Learn about the art of botanical drawing - the illustration of plant species with accurate form, colour and details.

 

Please note that this is a program for those aged 14+, and is a presentation with hands-on activities. Photographs and videos may be taken of the event. Participants must supply their own lead pencils, paper, pencil sharpener, eraser, ruler, and optionally coloured pencils.

A combination of art and botany, botanical drawing is the illustration of plant species with accurate form, colour and details. Una Bell, artist, environmental enthusiast, and author will guide participants through the basics of botanical drawing.

Attendees will need to bring paper, pencils, a pencil sharpener, eraser, ruler and coloured pencils (optional). No botanical drawing experience is required. This program is suitable for adults and young people aged 14 and over.
