Plastics: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly

We have produced more plastic in the last 10 years than we did in the whole of the last century, but less than 5% of the plastic produced is recycled worldwide.

In this two hour workshop, we will discuss:

  • The history of plastic and how it was originally invented for good
  • The increasing consumption of single use plastics
  • Where plastic goes and the challenges we face in managing the plastic crisis
  • How we can move towards a more sustainable and circular future

This workshop will be facilitated by Maryline Cassou from Precious Plastic Perth and April Russ from Matrix Sustainability. Maryline and April have partnered up to design a suite of educational workshops related to waste. This collaborative project aims to build a strong, inclusive, and connected community; engaged to find solutions to reduce pollution from waste.

Through education, engagement and participation, we will create behavioural changes and help our community to reduce, re-use, re-think and recycle our plastic consumption.

 Light supper provided.

This event is brought to you by City of Canning in partnership with Precious Plastic Perth.
