Refashioning clothing for a better future- Week 4

This initiative is part of the City of Canning’s Sustainability Community Learning Program 2020 and the workshops are lead by the local fashion upcycler Mariana Kirova, creative designer of Eco Fashion Sewing.

First of its kind, the series is exciting opportunity for creative sewists in Perth WA to learn how to alter at a pro level and keep clothes in circulation (Week 1), but mostly to enrich their skills with creative upcycling techniques on various easy-to-find clothing (Weeks 2-4).

12th NOVEMBER, Week 4: Repurposing Denim & Jeans

Durable, comfortable, easy to find, inexpensive, and made out of cotton: denim doesn't require more to convince you it's one of the best to reuse and create with. The last workshop of the series is designed to help you do that.

Learn exciting new ways to rework denim, discover quality sewing techniques and upcycling ideas for high-end garments, while making the class project. This session will make you eager to repurpose more and instead of donating small jeans you'll have an arsenal of potential transformations.

Along with the regular sewing supplies, this workshop will require you to bring some bigger needle sizes for your sewing machine (16/100 and over; universal or for denim). But if you use a machine provided by the organiser all needles will be supplied.

Booking options: you can secure a place for all workshops at a discounted price OR book workshop/s of your choice separately.

Capacity: Maximum 12 participants per workshop, so be quick at this unique creative opportunity and secure your place TODAY
