Waste – Where does it go?

November 18, 2023 @ 9:30 am - 10:30 am

Free

Did you know that the recycling rate in WA is only 60%?
This means that only just over half of the waste we produce is correctly processed in order to be used again.

You may be wondering why that is, you use your recycling bin all the time, and everyone you know does as well, how can the resource recovery rate be so low?

There is always more we can learn and in the area of waste there is a lot that will surprise you!

Learn how to sort your waste correctly and become a master at recycling with waste extraordinaire Peg Davies in this hands-on workshop. In this interactive workshop, Peg will answer the question ‘where does waste go, and what’s the best way to deal with it’?

Peg will take you through the four kerbside bin options available in Perth, with a special focus on recyclable items. She’ll also provide information on how to safely dispose of waste that should never go in your bins at home.

Waste – Where does it go? is presented by Peg Davies (Lessen with Peg) on behalf of the Shire of Serpentine – Jarrahdale and Switch your Thinking.

This FREE workshop is held as part of the Byford Glades Community Garden annual fundraising open day. Come along for a fun day of learning and help raise funds for the garden by visiting the cake stall, plant sale and sausage sizzle.
