We empower councils & residents

We work with government, business, industry, community groups and individuals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and contribute to global efforts to secure a safe climate.

Do you want to hone your waste and recycling skills or learn more about what a circular economy is? Then this community waste education program is for you!

Between June and December 2026, Switch Your Thinking will be hosting 6 online workshops on a range of waste, recycling and circular economy-related topics.

We’re also launching two new 20-page guides – One focused on the waste hierarchy which explores waste avoidance, reuse and upcycling, reprocessing and recycling, and why its important to divert as much waste as possible from Waste-to-Energy (incineration) and landfill. The second guide will help individuals and businesses better understand what a circular economy is, and includes a wide range of easy-to-adopt actions to help you on your way.

We’re also creating two educational videos on these themes which you can expect to see being rolled out on our social media pages.

Switch Your Thinking is running a community energy efficiency program (formerly known as the Energy Efficiency Pilot Program) through 74 local governments and community resource centres across WA, with support from Energy Policy WA in the Department of Energy and Economic Diversification. The program provides households and businesses access to relevant, accessible energy efficiency education to influence behaviour change leading to improved energy literacy and corresponding reductions in energy use and bills. Energy audit kits are available for loan from 130 locations around WA.
